I'll be back ... okay so i never really went away but the title will make sense further down :D

Around 4 years ago there was a few of us who blethered away regularly on the Red Bull F1 teams forums. There were a few competitions put on and that inspired me (with a few other influences) to make the Motorsport Dudes

Time has continued, faces have come and gone ... but every once in a while something works it's way onto your newsfeed or a blogpost and you think ... OH, I could do that.

So what has been the creative kick up the jacksie... THIS circulating again after Toto Wolff took a tumble off his bike and ended up with metal holding his wrist back together with the #Totonator tag

OOOOOHHHHH .... i have silver yarn said the wee seed that popped into the brain ... and in between the other ridiculous amount of projects i already have started I felt it was a great idea to just add another one to them :D

So for the last couple of days, I've taken the odd few minutes here and there and come up with

The Wolffs

Autism Awareness Beanie - free pattern link

Sproglet1 has Aspergers so it was fitting to design a simple-ish pattern to offer for others to make to help create awareness
There is intarsia used, but as it is blocks of colour it would be a good way for someone wanting to learn to give it a go. If you don’t want to do so tho you could knit the simple beanie and use the chart to duplicate stitch/swiss darn on the logo
This pattern is free to use for awareness purposes, please do not sell pattern, but please do feel free to donate to Autism and Aspergers charities.
Thank You

Ant and Dec

You may not know who these guys are if you dont watch British TV LOL

Elsa

Yes took me a while to get Queen Elsa done too. This was made for Sproglet2 to give as a birthday present.

Her train/cape was a bit of a challenge. I could have wimped out and used some wide lace, or net, or a gossamer fabric, instead rose to it and used dropped stitch and blocked it well to create a large open stitch.

Superman - Man of Steel

About time I added in the new costume :D

mini tutorial time

You may (or may not) have noticed that the cheeks of the Dudes are showing colour in the last few varieties.
Very simple to do, just lightly rub the end of a colouring pencil over the area, being careful not to pull at the stitches. This works great using brown/grey/black to make a 5 o'clock shadow or other colours for eyeshadow. Remember tho that if you wash the colour will probably need to be reapplied
